Retired concert promoter Mike Schreibman is president and executive director of the Washington Area Music Association, a nonprofit organization that strives to raise the profile of the diverse music scene in the nation’s capital.

Maria Villafana is a writer/editor who covered music for washingtonpost.com during the past 10 years, and developed its MP3 file-driven local music site. Her photographs have been published in Black Radio Exclusive, the Washington Post and washingtonpost.com.
